Today in this 21st century, educators’ primary challenges focused on trying to keep the lessons real for students and struggling with better integrating STEM and Sign Language. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), are emphasizing the integration of STEM into the curriculum. They found that the greatest challenge that teachers face is making explicit connections between STEM fields while balancing the need for context and student engagement. And even the call for improving STEM education is widespread, there is little guidance for teachers on how to do so. Yet there is a budding of the study of STEM in Deaf Education. This presentation set out to basic outline challenges and find best practices for educators, professionals and researchers to better integrate science, technology, engineering, mathematics and sign languages in their classrooms.
