College attendance is at an all-time high but yet is being challenged lately with rising cost of tuition and declining sources of financial aid. Many DHH youth choose to attend school in a different state and more and more states are committed to keeping finite financial resources in-state. This conflict of finite resources have adversely affected postsecondary options for many college-bound seniors.
The future of the educated DHH community is contingent upon educational access among youth. Enough students and families are making uninformed decisions and end up with a financial hold on the account, preventing continued matriculation in the school and ability to transfer to other schools.
